Yellow Creek State Park is located in the headwaters of the Yellow Creek watershed. Between Yellow Creek State Park and Route 954, the stream is classified as a cold eater fishery and is included in the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission trout-stocking program. By the time the stream reaches the Village of Tide, it is severally impacted by acid mine drainage and is no longer capable of supporting life.
